“If everyone likes it, you probably haven’t gone far enough” -Rick Rubin

Marketing is really just an act of creating.

Creating words that describe who you are and what you do.

Creating a combination of colors that people easily recognize.

Creating graphics and pictures.

Creating a feeling that your brand gives off.

To create these things does not mean you need to follow this grand strategy, perfectly curated by some marketing “guru” out there.

What it means is that we just need more of you. Simple, really.

More of what makes you unique.

More stories.

More sneak peeks.

More pictures.

More realness.

More generosity.

More color combinations.

More updates.

More rabbit holes.

More hot takes.

No “proven” strategy or social media manager or SEO expert or marketing guru will ever be able to replicate those things. Because no one is you.

People buy for a variety of reasons, and two of those reasons are trust and likeability. How are you going to build those things and set yourself apart when you’re just another carbon copy of everyone else out there?

Not everyone will like it or resonate with it, but those who do? Man, you’ll have some loyal customers.

Until next time,

Emily
